New ‘Pet Care Club’ ... spread the cost of your pet’s treatment
Our ‘Pet Care Club’ is now fully operational. Clients who register can spread the cost of their annual booster vaccination, flea and worming treatments. The payments are collected by direct debit, and no extra charge is made for administration. The scheme also includes two full health checks, and a 10% discount on normal fees for neutering, first consultations, dental procedures and any diets or sundries purchased at the Practice. There will also be regular promotions for club members. The club has been developed as part of our preventative healthcare policy. It helps owners to keep their pets fit and healthy, and regular visits mean that the general well-being of your pet can be monitored. Costs range from between £9.35 and £13.10 monthly, depending on the size of your pet. Joining up is easy. We will ask you to complete a simple form, which includes a direct debit mandate. For more information, please see our Pet Care Club brochure, or ask at Reception.
Winter problems
Shorter days and colder weather signify the beginning of the Winter months. This time of year holds many potential hazards for our pets:
Antifreeze ~ although animals seem to find antifreeze very tasty, it is highly toxic. Make sure you clear up any spillages immediately.
Dark nights ~ make sure you are visible to traffic if you are out walking your dog during the dark mornings & evenings. There are many reflective collars & leads available.
Wash feet ~ the rocksalt used to grit roads in icy conditions can burn the feet of dogs. If your dog is exposed to the salt, wash their feet thoroughly to
prevent irritation.
Frozen water ~ remember to check the water of rabbits and other outdoor pets. They will also need extra food rations in the cold weather.
Chocolate ~ do not let your pets eat chocolate designed purely for human consumption. Chemicals in the chocolate can be highly toxic to pets.
